Progress Lab’s Obstructions at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre

Test the theory that art thrives best under limitations: the Progress Lab’s ongoing Obstructions event hands local theatre troupes a group of restrictions and sees what kind of work emerges. Boca del Lupo debuted in newspaper costumes with a sold-out show in May. Now Felix Culpa takes to the Ukrainian Cultural Centre (805 East Pender Street) on Saturday night (June 30) to face its own “obstructions”. Dictated by a group of their peers, their limits include having to make the material autobiographical and not using more than 100 words. An unObstructed party will follow, and Pi Theatre will receive a list of restrictions for its own show next month.
