3:01 Pick Me Up: John Carpenter

If you catch the outstanding, locally-made sci-fi head movie Beyond the Black Rainbow when it opens in Vancouver next weekend, you’ll probably note that the film’s equally mindblowing analog synth score (by our own Sinoia Caves) at least partly owes its existence to John Carpenter, whose taut, electronic soundtrack work on movies like Halloween and Escape from New York only sounds better as the decades roll by.

Then, on the other hand, there’s this:
