Rumble Productions appoints Stephen Drover as artistic producer

Rumble Productions has recruited one of its own to be the new artistic producer of the Vancouver performing-arts company.

Stephen Drover has been appointed to the permanent role, the Rumble Productions board announced today (July 4).

Drover was hired as interim artistic producer in January after Craig Hall left to join Calgary’s Vertigo Theatre.

“Rumble has been very blessed in having some wonderful artistic leaders, and Stephen is no exception,” board president Elizabeth Reid said in a news release.

“He brings great passion and drive to our organization. With Stephen’s addition to our already exceptional team, Rumble is poised for great things.”

Drover is an award-winning director who has worked with the Vancouver Opera and the Stratford Festival in Ontario.

He is also founding artistic director of Vancouver’s Pound of Flesh Theatre.

“This is a wonderful time for Rumble Productions, full of many exciting possibilities and brave new directions,” Drover said in the release.

“I'm so happy for the opportunity to be a part of it, to join a talented and dedicated team and to steer the company through its next phase of development and beyond.”
