Boxer Mary Spencer goes down to defeat

One of Canada's medal prospects, boxer Mary Spencer, had her Olympic dreams dashed today by Jinzi Li of China.

Spencer landed some blows (see above), but lost 17-14 in the middleweight-division bout.

The Ojibwa boxer from Wiarton, Ontario has been one of Canada's most famous athletes at the London Games, posing for CoverGirl and reaping enormous publicity as a result.
