Rupert Everett slams gay dads, has possible career as one-child policy spokesperson

U.K. star Rupert Everett continues to demonstrate the skills he honed at the prestigious Elton John School of Public Relations in interviews, this time addressing the pressing issue of gay parents.

The actor, best known for being a '90s gay accessory for female stars like Julia Roberts in My Best Friend's Wedding and Madonna in The Next Best Thing, continued his public descent into attention-seeking, potentially career-reviving bitterness in an interview with the Sunday Times Magazine.

"I can't think of anything worse than being brought up by two gay dads. Some people might not agree with that. Fine! That's just my opinion," he stated in an aggressive yet passive way.

"I'm not speaking on behalf of the gay community," he clarified, suggesting worries he might be mistaken for a representative of GLAAD. "In fact, I don't feel like I'm part of any 'community'. The only community I belong to is humanity and we've got too many children on the planet, so it's good not to have more."

Everett, a prospective spokesperson for exporting China's one-child policy worldwide, made an effective point by positing two gay fathers as being far worse than abusive, neglectful, substance-abusing, and lactose-intolerant heterosexual parents with speech impediments who engage in family-friendly recreational activities such as operating heavy machinery under the influence of sedative medication.

He had also previously criticized "forcing the idea of parenthood on us gay men" as "bogus" in a 2009 interview. It remains unclear as to who exactly was enforcing the heterosexual agenda at the time.

There's no word yet on what Everett thinks of two gay moms but presumably he considers them to less terrible than gay men simply because he is not a self-loathing lesbian.

In 2009, Everett expressed regret at having come out of the closet, which he claimed killed his career, and had discouraged young gay Hollywood stars from doing the same. (He has yet to blame his homosexuality for killing his burgeoning '80s music career and his related bogus haircuts.)

Following his advice, numerous stars have come out, including Zachary Quinto and Matt Bomer.

It remains to be seen when Everett will be set up on a date with author Bret Easton Ellis.

He's not thinking it through. I'm gay, I thought the same at first, thought children should have male and female energies shown to them... now, I think anything can go as long as there's love and acceptance.
