The Georgia Straight presents Slightly Stoopid featuring Karl Denson at the Commodore

      Live Nation has announced that San Diego-based reggae-rock band Slightly Stoopid, featuring saxophonist Karl Denson, will perform at the Commodore Ballroom on Wednesday, January 23, 2013.

      Formed in 1995, Slightly Stoopid—led by co-founders and multi-instrumentalists Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald—has put out seven studio albums, including the recently released Top of the World.

      Tickets for the show are priced at $23.50 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (November 9) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

      Tickets are also available for purchase by phone at 1-855-985-5000, and at Highlife Records, at all Ticketmaster Outlets and Rogers Wireless Box Office.

      The Slightly Stupid show was mis-advertised as "featuring saxophonist Karl Denson" per above.

      At the show last night, I had to strain my eyes to be sure Karl Denson was on stage. He was seemingly hidden in the horn section. I don't even recall Slightly Stoopid acknowledging that Denson was there, never mind "featuring" him for more than a few bars.

      Slightly Stoopid is an apt name for the band.
