Paul McCartney's setlist promises the Beatles' best in Vancouver

    1 of 1 2 of 1

SPOILER ALERT: If you're going to the McCartney concert in Vancouver tonight and you don't want to know what songs he's most likely to play, stop reading now.

Tonight's Paul McCartney show at BC Place is shaping up to be one of the biggest concert events Vancouver has ever hosted, maybe even more stellar than that Darknesss gig at the Commodore last February. There's a couple reasons why the anticipation level for this gig is so off the charts.

It's the first time Sir Paul has played in town since the Fab Four's historic performance at Empire Stadium back in August of '64. Then there's the rumour that Bruce Springsteen--who plays Rogers Arena tomorrow night--will hop on stage, maybe to join him in a version of "Born Back in the U.S.A.S.S.R."

A lot of Beatles freaks with McCartney tix in hand are no doubt psyched about what old-school tracks he'll roll out tonight. Thanks to websites like setlist.fm, a pretty fair prediction of those songs can be made. Judging by what McCartney's been playing on his current On the Run Tour, I'm particularly stoked about the possibility of hearing "Yesterday", "Blackbird", "Paperback Writer", "I'm Looking Through You", "Back in the U.S.S.R.", "A Day in the Life", "Day Tripper", and "Get Back".

Here's the complete setlist from McCartney's latest show, Nov. 14 in Houston, Texas, as posted on setlist.fm. Looks like there's "Something" on there for everyone.

      1) "Magical Mystery Tour"

      2) "Junior's Farm"

Still too many 'wings' songs. That kept me from going.

Going to the show tonight with my wife and my cousin who was at the 1964 Empire Stadium Beatles show, and my friend who braved the line-up and managed to score tickets. I'm stoked that he's singing "The Night Before" from the film "Help!"- I saw that with my 2 cousins who went to the 1964 concert. I wanted to see the Beatles live SO bad but they never played town again. I did catch Ringo's All-Starr Band show at the Coliseum back in 1989 and tonight it's Paul McCartney.

I lean toward the heavier side of music (can't wait for Propagandhi to announce a YVR show), but I am super pumped about seeing Paul tonight. Like many kids my age I grew up on The Beatles. Also excited to hear Band on the Run live! 3 hours!

Met Paul & John back in the late 50s at the 2 Is coffee bar on Greek St. in Soho London. Still the greatest, always will be, even my sons agree!!!!

no, he didn't show up. On stage. Who knows what happened backstage as far as making out goes. None of my business.
