Film producers seeking song submissions for Ecstasy soundtrack
There was a time when every teenager and his little sister's chihuahua's veternarian's lesbian lover's sister-in-law's chiropractor (and there are a lot of them out there) had the Trainspotting soundtrack.
Are you a band or artist hoping for a big break like the kind Underworld experienced when their song "Born Slippy" was included on that ubiquitous soundtrack?
Well, now's your chance.
Film producers of Ecstasy, based on the book by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh, are asking bands and artists to submit songs to be considered for the soundtrack for the film.
The director of Ecstasy, Rob Heydon, was interviewed on BBC Radio Scotland's "The Movie Café", as well as David Emerson from Underworld (and the Simple Minds manager regarding the impact of the band's songs on The Breakfast Club soundtrack), about the film and the soundtrack on the April 12th episode.
Other artists that will be included on the Ecstasy soundtrack include Paolo Ntuni, Iggy Pop, Supertramp, the Undertones, the Chemical Brothers, and the Stone Roses.
Unfortunately, we've had to remove the email address that was listed on the press release due to an excessive number of submissions received. If we manage to get new contact information, we will post it.
The deadline is May 31, 2007.
