Digging through ciders

Comments

Had to dig through three different new fruit ciders to find the one that works-strawberry/rhubarb, a combo I love in a pie, was way too cotton-candy boring; white cranberry/peach had too much peach and not enough cranberry bite-but Growers Red Ruby Grapefruit Dry Cider was right on the money. At $1.64 a single 341-ml bottle, it delivers a moderate seven-percent kick. Nice and dry, if a little elusive (with a super-short finish that fades fast), and it could be even grapefruitier still, but so far so good. For the really hot days on the deck, whenever they get here. Two is about right with a plate of fish and chips.
