From B.C.'s Nelson Brewery comes Faceplant Winter Ale, a hearty medium-dark brew whose follow-through is actually quite a bit more civilized than the name would suggest. I don't think it'll cause you to face-plant (if we can let that be a verb just this once), but it might ameliorate any face-planting after the fact. Hearty and rich and without even a hint of bitterness, it's solid and fruity, a great dinner ale with some chicken cooked in beer as they do in Alsace: lots of onions, mushrooms, lemons, parsley, and beer ($10.95 for a regulation six-pack).
