Paris-based choreographer Jérôme Bel’s The Show Must Go On wasn’t just the highlight of the 2010 PuSh International Performing Arts Festival; his ode to the soundtrack of our lives, which found the audience singing along to the likes of Nick Cave and Céline Dion, was one of the best shows in this city all that year. Now, the iconoclastic dance artist is back in very different form, with a much more minimalistic exploration of autobiographical storytelling. Cédric Andrieux, named for the French dancer and Merce Cunningham alumnus who performs the solo work, digs inside the artist’s life. The New York Times says it “shows us dance from the inside”. Check it out Friday to Sunday (January 18 to 20) at the Scotiabank Dance Centre.
