Vancouverites have known Darryl Lenox is the real deal for ages. The American standup spent 11 years in our city till 2008. During that time, we took him in as one of our own as he developed into one of the best comics in the country. Now living in New York, Lenox is hitting his stride. His 2010 concert filmed at the Vogue Theatre was the first comedy special to air on the Starz network, and his CD Blind Ambition was named one of the top five comedy albums of 2012 by Stagetime Magazine, alongside such notables as Louis C.K., Patrice O’Neal, Reggie Watts, and Tig Notaro. Next Thursday (February 7), he’ll make his debut on Conan on TBS. But first you can see him in his element, doing five shows at Yuk Yuk’s on Cambie this Thursday through Saturday (January 31 to February 2).
