A Very Funny Evening With Colin Mochrie at Vogue Theatre

The title may be redundant, but at least it’s truthful: A Very Funny Evening With Colin Mochrie and Special Guests. When is Mochrie not funny? The star of such televised comedies as Whose Line Is It Anyway? (both the British and American versions) and This Hour Has 22 Minutes got his start with the Vancouver TheatreSports League, and on Saturday he helps give back to the company with two shows at the Vogue Theatre. Proceeds go toward paying off its new venue, the Improv Centre, on Granville Island. That’s just the kind of mensch the Killarney high-school grad is. He’s currently on an international tour with fellowWhose Line improviser Brad Sherwood, but will be performing with current and former VTSL players in Saturday’s show. The 7:30 p.m. event features Denise Jones, Michael Teigen, Graeme Duffy, Bill Pozzobon, Michael Robinson, Jeff Gladstone, and Mike Black, while at 9:30 the actors are Randy Schooley, Pearce Visser, David Michard, Brian Anderson, Taz VanRassel, Diana Frances, and Denalda Williams. VTSL executive director Jay Ono hosts both performances.
