An artist who helped establish East Vancouver’s outdoor Illuminares and Parade of Lost Souls festivals is set to deliver a talk on the role of art in the life of a community.

Paula Jardine, a co-founder of the Public Dreams Society, is scheduled to discuss the development of her artistic practice as part of the 2013 edition of the Lulu Series.

Presented by the City of Richmond, the Lulu Series is an annual program of public talks on art in the community. The free event featuring Jardine takes place on Thursday (February 21) at 7 p.m. at Richmond City Hall.

Jardine’s presentation is the second of three talks planned for this year’s series. The final event, featuring Andrew Pask from the Vancouver Public Space Network, takes place on March 28.
