Richmond Arts Awards finalists announced

The City of Richmond has announced the finalists for its annual awards recognizing contributions to the arts.

The 18 individuals and organizations shortlisted in six categories include: Glen Anderson, Jeanette G. Lee, and Richmond in 3D (artistic innovation); B.C. Children’s Art and Literacy Centre, Gateway Academy for the Performing Arts, and Sze-Oi Lucia Lau (arts education); and Accent Inns, Michael Audain, and RBC Financial Group (business and the arts).

The finalists also include: Gateway Theatre, Sara Holt, and Richmond Youth Concert Band (cultural leadership); Lynn Chen, Nes and Tonette Gatus, and Lorraine Wellman (volunteerism); and Andrew Cohen, Alexa Fraser, and Shirley Liu (youth arts).

Mayor Malcolm Brodie announces the six winners of the fifth-annual Richmond Arts Awards during a ceremony at City Hall on May 8.
