The winners of the fifth-annual Richmond Arts Awards have been announced. The 2013 civic prizes, recognizing contributions to the arts, were awarded in six categories.

The recipients are: the B.C. Children’s Art and Literacy Society (arts education); sculptor and musician Jeanette G. Lee (artistic innovation); RBC Royal Bank (business and arts); community volunteers Nes and Tonette Gatus (volunteerism); visual artist Shirley Liu (youth arts); and Gateway Theatre (cultural leadership).

A ceremony to honour the winners was scheduled at Richmond City Hall on May 8.
