B.C. government provides support for arts grant program

The B.C. government says it will provide $300,000 to support artsVest, a program designed to help smaller-sized arts groups with fundraising.

Coralee Oakes, the newly sworn in minister of community, sport, and cultural development, made the announcement in a release today (June 11).

Through the artsVest program, matching-grant funding is provided to arts groups who then seek financial support from private-sector donors.

The program, run across the country by the association Business for the Arts, was introduced in Metro Vancouver in June 2012.

The province says it will provide the funding to the artsVest program over two years.

More Revenues

Most of this comes from Gaming Revenues as in Casinos if the BC Government did not give Monopolies to mostly foreign Casino Corporations and instead run it 100% themselves they would get another $1.5 Billion ++ into Government Treasury.

Imagine the Healthcare and Education that could pay for.

But this Government in particular believes in Corporate Welfare.
