RAW:natural born artists at Gossip Nightclub

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Imagine a nightclub where indie artists in fashion, music, visual art, film, performance art, photography, hair, and makeup mashed their talents into one giant, multimedia show. You’re getting close to picturing RAW:natural born artists, which operates in 55 cities across the U.S and in over 10 cities in Australia. The interdisciplinary bonanza is finally launching in Canada, with its Vancouver debut this Friday night (August 23) at Gossip Nightclub. We’re talking catwalk shows by the likes of emerging talents such as Pretty Bastard and Nicole Guzzo, short-film screenings, standup comedy, music by Mark Fossen and Jess Cullen, a visual-art exhibit featuring the work of artists including Mike Soloman (above), and live DJs. In other words, it’s a one-stop shop of cultural cool. And, yes, it allows indie artists across the spectrum to connect, but if RAW happenings around the globe are any indication, it will also be a damn fine party.

What a horrible night. From the opening of the doors this party seemed doomed. A movie was shown on a green tinted screen with distortion. You couldn't even see it or hear it. Bunk

The host never had her mic on cue, Talking into a dead mic is rookie moves. when it was on she said "Right" every second word like she was trying to convince the crowd this was good and told one joke. Good job funny lady.

One fashion show out of six was ok the rest were some ghetto trash looking styles.

The art work was so so and the drinks were overpriced.

There was supposed to be a dance party but the host told everybody the night was over so the place emptied , the dj blasted out awesome tunes to four of us and packed it in after half an hour. I asked him what was up but he mumbled something like twenty hours of work no pay screw it.

I got ripped off again but the crappiest city I have ever lived in.
