Boca del Lupo’s Red Phone at the Anderson Street Space on Granville Island

Picture the set: two phone booths outfitted with an old-fashioned red phone. It’s here that two audience members will be guided (care of a teleprompter) through a conversation about life and art—a talk that is penned by Canadian playwrights, and that’s by turns moving and uplifting.

It’s the basis for the latest in Boca del Lupo’s endlessly innovative, often interactive Micro Performance Series—a group of intimate shows that is proving bigger is not necessarily better. Called Red Phone, it’s conceived by Sherry Yoon with a design by Jay Dodge and technology by Carey Dodge. It runs at 10-minute increments, with—yes—only a pair of audience members admitted at a time, from Wednesday to Sunday (April 8 to 12) at the Anderson Street Space on Granville Island.
