Here’s an art show that will appeal to anyone who has enjoyed the waves crashing off Long Beach while storm-watching, or seen the sun rise over a rocky Tofino island. Artist David A. Haughton has spent years sketching, painting, and photographing the ever-changing vistas and light of that area during storm season, and some of the results of his efforts are on view in the show Fear, Hope & Longing II: Paintings of the Pacific Northwest. The three-day “flash” exhibit takes place from Friday to Sunday (September 27 to 29) at the Visual Space Gallery (2075 Alberta Street), and includes such canvases as the atmospheric Dawn Light (shown here).
