      Winter? What winter? Unlike our compatriots in the rest of Canada, Vancouverites got off lightly this year—although we still might pay for that in the form of water shortages come summer.

      If you missed the frosty temperatures, though, you’ve still got a chance to indulge in dark days and snowbound meditations tonight (April 15), when the Vancouver Recital Society presents tenor Ian Bostridge and pianist Wenwen Du at the Vancouver Playhouse. They’ll be performing Franz Schubert’s Winterreise: arguably the greatest classical song cycle, and a work of deep, poetic, and, yes, wintry beauty. How cool is that?
