Stationary: A Recession-Era Musical at the Cultch

When Stationary: A Recession-Era Musical debuted at the Neanderthal Festival a few years ago, playwright Christine Quintana told the Straight, “This is like a hipster Death of a Salesman. But how odd it is that it’s young people feeling that despair.” Intriguing, yes, but we don’t want to give you the feeling that this now well-travelled show is a downer: peppered with rap lyrics and indie songs, and featuring some of the city’s most exciting young stars, the Delinquent Theatre production is as funny as it is dark.

Having just toured to Ontario, with previous success at Presentation House and the Gabriola Island Theatre Festival, Stationary returns here to the Cultch from Tuesday (April 21) to May 2.
