Can’t get enough new art in your life? Then head for Art! Vancouver, a local and international art fair that offers a cornucopia of contemporary works, from Thursday to Sunday (May 21 to 24) at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The inaugural event, inspired by Europe’s world-famous Art Basel, promises to transform the centre into a buzzing hive of booths—filled with paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, and photographs—where you can talk directly to the artists about their creations.

Among the many exhibitors are Manasha Garcia and Keelin Garcia, the wife and daughter, respectively, of the late Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia, whose charitable foundation will donate the funds they raise to a local music school. Artists include Skyler Grey, who’s only 15 years old but has a multitude of celebrity collectors, including Kanye West, Chris Brown, and Alicia Keys.
