Don’t be surprised if a little of the hardship in John Steinbeck’s classic Of Mice and Men sounds a bit familiar in these economic times, as Hardline Productions produces it until October 26 at Little Mountain Gallery. The company is mounting this essential story of friendship and migrant workers with a strong cast, including Alec Willows, Jesse Martyn, Christine Quintana, Matthew Bissett, and more. We love the fittingly old-school way the Depression-era tale is told, too—without recorded or digital sound, but rather with only two foley artists, who will create the world of the show with live sound, from running water to those dreaded gunshots.
