Richard Lett: Sober But Never Clean at Yuk Yuk’s

We still think of Richard Lett as a Vancouver comic, but the veteran standup has lived in Toronto for the past few years. Lett 2.0 is a kinder, gentler version of the one that graced stages here, thanks to getting his life in order by quitting booze, drugs, and smoking, but he hasn’t gone soft behind the mike, as the title of his one-man show will attest.

Richard Lett: Sober But Never Clean, directed by TJ Dawe, makes its Vancouver debut at Yuk Yuk’s on Friday (September 4) at 10:30 p.m. and it tells the story of his journey, including his bout with testicular cancer. It’s a different kind of experience for the comedy club on Cambie. The show incorporates storytelling, music, and slam poetry, but don’t get the wrong idea—there’s still standup, and it’s still funny.

Even with his personal transformation, Lett is still Lett, after all.
