Fringe Fest 2015: Do I Have To Do Everything My Fucking Self? has bad poetry and better songs

Like so many shows, this one would be stronger if it were better organized.

In it, Toronto musician Gentleman Reg trots out his drag persona, Regina, who gets off some good lines. She tells us, for instance, that she finds Valentine’s Day “more depressing than an Ani DiFranco cover band”. But the entertainment doesn’t have a core or a coherent progression. We get a bit about Regina’s past—growing up in Guelph, modelling herself on Charlie’s Angels. We get some bad poetry, some better songs, and a lot of retro choreography.

Regina’s warmth can be charming, but her show is a grab bag in which nothing is strikingly original.

      At Performance Works on September 10 (6:45 p.m.), 12 (7:55 p.m.), 15 (5:15 p.m.), 17 (10:05 p.m.), 18 (6:55 p.m.), and 20 (1 p.m.)
