Fringe Fest 2015: Shake the Sheets boasts beautiful writing and cool cameos

An extended ode to the power of words and imagination, Mack Gordon’s script dramatizes an in-between world: it’s either the writer-husband’s words come to life, the painter-wife’s nightmares made flesh, or both, somehow.

Even if we’re never sure where we are, it’s hard not to appreciate the beauty of Gordon’s writing, especially his poetic descriptions of music (made real by composer Jordan Klassen).

Gordon and Kaitlin Williams are passionate performers, walking the narrow path between desperation and hope. Bonus: each show features an unrehearsed cameo by a different Fringe celebrity, adding surprise and comic relief.

      At Carousel Theatre on September 13 (2 p.m.), 14 (10:45 p.m.), 16 (8 p.m.), 17 (6 p.m.), 18 (9:45 p.m.), and 19 (1 p.m.).
