Paintorialism at Initial Gallery
1 of 1 2 of 1
Bodies intertwine as we look at them from above in East Vancouver artist Thomas Anfield’s sensuous, humanistic new works. Walking into his solo show—titled Paintorialism—at Granville Street’s Initial Gallery is a bit like getting a warm embrace. Works like The Picnic, shown here, bring together all the influences of the artist’s varied career, from his work in butoh dance to his time as a muralist. The exhibition runs till February 8.
