A lot has been said about smartphones and their apparent role in our growing tendencies toward isolation—but how would our interactions change if we could alter real-life altogether?

That’s the question Dr. Ken Perlin is tackling for The Future of Reality, a special presentation at the Emily Carr University of Art + Design that will explore how evolving computation and display technologies are changing the way we communicate with the world. A professor and researcher at the NYU Media Research Lab, Dr. Perlin will discuss the impact of computer-mediated interfaces on everyday life at a time when Vancouver is set to become an industry leader in content creation for virtual and mixed reality.

The talk begins at 5:30 p.m. this Friday (November 6). Tickets are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis online.
