Ethos Collective at the Orpheum Annex

Steve Reich’s Double Sextet isn’t as well known as the American composer’s epochal Music for 18 Musicians, but it’s at least two-thirds as good—as local listeners will discover for themselves on Thursday (May 15). Join the rising new-music stars of the Ethos Collective, UBC resident ensemble the Nu:BC Collective, and clarinetist François Houle as they team up to present the smaller of the two minimalist masterpieces at the Orpheum Annex, and stick around for more music from Vancouver’s own Jordan Nobles and the U.K.’s Graham Fitkin, among others. Energy and excellence are assured.
