Jane Coop at the West Point Grey United Church

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Vetta Chamber Music launches its season with piano great Jane Coop at the keyboards, tackling not just Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Quartet in E-flat major, K.493, but, by her own special request, Ernest Chausson’s Concerto for Violin, Piano & String Quartet in D Major, Opus 21. The romantic work alternates between violin sonata, piano solo, string quartet, piano sextet, and more—by turns joyous and haunting. Elsewhere on the program, strings also sing in Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály’s lyrical Serenade for Two Violins & Viola, Opus 12. The concert takes place at 2 p.m. on Thursday (September 18) and at 8 p.m. on Friday (September 19) at the atmospheric West Point Grey United Church.
