Three local stage and music talents are nominated for the Playwrights' Guild of Canada national awards—prizes that are unique because they spotlight works that haven't been produced yet.

Writer/director Amiel Gladstone and singer-composer Veda Hille are nominated for the Evgeni Onegin Project for the Stage West Pechet Family Musical Award. The prize is given annually for a PGC member's new musical work that hasn't had a premiere production yet.

And emerging playwright Jordan Hall (perhaps best-known locally for the Alley Theatre production of her Kayak) gets the nod for How  to Survive an Apocalypse for the Stage West Pechet Family Comedy Award, which goes to a new comedy by a PGC-member show that not yet had a premiere production.

The winners for each award will be announced at PGC’s Tom Hendry Awards Event on October 27 in Toronto.
