The Muted Note at the Western Front

Inspired by the haunting images of B.C. poet P.K. Page, The Muted Note is a gorgeous suite of songs and dances—and it’ll be performed in duo form by trombonist Scott Thomson and singer-choreographer Susanna Hood (above) at the Western Front on Wednesday (October 15). Making the venue an especially apt one for the Montreal-based pair is that Thomson’s score is rooted in the work of American saxophonist Steve Lacy, a frequent visitor to the Front who also loved setting poetry to music, and music to dance.
