Joy and jazz with Van Django Bells

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Think holiday tunes with extra swing: Van Django Bells is bringing back its eclectic variety show of gypsy-jazz-flavoured sing-alongs, pop tunes, some classical touches, and jazz standards after premiering to an enthusiastic response at the Rogue Folk Club last year. Violinist Cameron Wilson, guitarist Budge Schachte, guitarist/cellist Finn Manniche, bassist Brent Gubbels, harmonica virtuoso Keith Bennett, and vocalist LJ Mounteney give everything from “Santa Baby” to “Silver Bells” that 1930s–Django Reinhardt vibe in shows Tuesday (December 16) at Presentation House in North Vancouver; next Thursday (December 18) at the Michael J. Fox Theatre in Burnaby; December 19 at St. James Hall; and December 20 at Mount Seymour United Church in North Van.
