The Vancouver Art Gallery is planning to extend its hours for the last week of the Forbidden City: Inside the Court of China's Emperors exhibit due to popular demand.

The show, which displays almost 200 precious items from the Beijing Palace Museum that you would normally have to travel to China to see, ends January 11, 2015. With that in mind, the Gallery will stay open until 7 p.m. from January 7 to January 11 to accommondate more visitors.

The exhibit's ornate paintings, ceramics, gold and silver wares, jade, cloisonné, bronzes, and textiles were hidden for centuries behind the walls of the Forbidden City,  the seat of imperial power in China from 1420 to 1911, and that's why they hold such a mystique.

Note that the gallery is closed on December 25 and January 1; holiday hours are here.
