Disney's The Lion King will make a return visit to Vancouver as part of Broadway Across Canada's just-announced 2015-16 season.

The blockbuster spectacle, with its herds of giant rod- and shadow-puppet animals and music by Elton John and Tim Rice, hits the Queen Elizabeth Theatre from June 18 to July 12.

A very different kind of show comes next on the roster, with the Tony Award-winning Once, based on the movie of the same name, hitting the QE November 17 to 22. It tells the offbeat love story of a Dublin street musician and the girl who falls for his heartfelt songs.

Dirty Dancing rounds out the season from January 12 to 16, 2016, with the chance to add the hit ABBA ode Mamma Mia! to the package when it comes here March 29 to April 3, 2016.
