For most people, the time leading up to Valentine’s Day is for love and affection. But at Vancouver TheatreSports League, it’s an excuse for all-out, head-to-head, no-holds-barred war. No surprise, then, that the logo for the Massacre Improv Festival is a heart cut in two: for the next couple of weeks, VTSL teams are battling it out on the Improv Centre stage from Wednesday to Saturday. Next Tuesday (February 10), U.S.–based improv groups (including teams from Chicago, Minneapolis, and Santa Monica) will enter the tournament, with the final showdown held on February 15. There will be a lot of laughs along the way—and who doesn’t crave a little nasty competition amid all the chocolate and roses this time of year?
