It’s December, which means that the holiday mood has officially kicked in.

For art aficionados, you may want to check out a Gatsby-themed Christmas soirée taking place tonight (6:30 to 10 p.m.) at District Main (4453 Main Street Vancouver).

The highlight of the night will be a new solo exhibition titled “Precious Elements” by Lisa Penz. The artist has a background in graphic design, and enjoys capturing a sense of balance through shapes and colours.

“This focus of space, both aesthetically on the canvas and theoretically for the viewer, is seemingly simple, but is the foundation of everything,” said Penz in a press statement. ”[And] for your mood, which most always will dictate your actions.”

Besides the art experience, guests will also be treated to signature cocktails, food, and festive music. Admission to this event is free.
