The PuSh International Performing Arts Festival has named the group of artists who will act in its unique Young Ambassadors program, and many of them are doing work that reflect the event's form-mashing focus.

The idea behind it is to integrate the next generation of local creators into the fest and hook them up and connects them with visiting Canadian and international artists. Young professionals get chances to engage directly with their specific artists’ practice as well as attend workshops and industry events at PuSh.

This year's names are writer Patrick Blenkarn, an MFA candidate Interdisciplinary Studies at Simon Fraser University who works across a variety of media and performance; emerging theatre artist, writer, and director Elysse Cheadle; theatre artist June Fukumura, of Popcorn Galaxies and New(to)Town Collective; interdisciplinary dance artist Arash Khakpour, of The Biting School and Pressed Paradise; his brother, multidisciplinary performer and theatre-maker, Aryo Khakpour; theatre actor and up-and-coming director Julia Siedlanowska; actor-writer Elizabeth Willow; and contemporary dancer/Modus Operandi alumnus Sophia Wolfe.
