Three cool facts about Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud: he’s the artistic director of the Arctic Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and co–AD of the Risør Festival of Chamber Music.

He performs on a violin built in 1744 by Giuseppe Guarneri, Antonio Stradivari’s only serious rival. And he’s guest-starring with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at the Orpheum from Saturday to Monday (April 1 to 3), performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major.

Word is that he’s more than capable of finding a fresh take on this beloved classical-concert staple.
