The BC Alliance for Arts + Culture is hosting an all-candidates meeting for the Arts on Monday (May 1) at the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts at SFU Woodward's (149 West Hastings).

All political parties represented in the B.C. general election are to convene to share and debate their platform for the arts, culture, and heritage sectors.

The panel features Spencer Chandra Herbert (NDP MLA, Vancouver-West End), Amanda Konkin (Green candidate, Vancouver-Point Grey) and a B.C. Liberal candidate, to be confirmed.

The meeting will be moderated by arts and cultural activist Melody Ma.

This free public event is open for all voters for an opportunity to listen to each party's platform. Audience members can engage with the political process by asking questions of the panel in-person or, before the event, questions can be submitted through the alliance’s social media channels.

The alliance is a provincial informational resource for the arts community. ArtsVote BC, an initiative of the Alliance, is a nonpartisan grassroots campaign created to keep the arts on the agendas of political parties, candidates, and voters in British Columbia.

Meeting attendees can register on the ArtsVote BC website here.

The all-candidates meeting will take place at the Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema from 7 to 8:30 p.m
