Chor Leoni men's choir is celebrating its 25th season in 2017-18 with a collaboration with Grammy-winning TAKE 6, the return of the C4 composition competition, and a special silver-anniversary show.

The hit Alabama a cappella gospel music sextet TAKE 6 will be the featured artists for Chor Leoni’s VanMan Male Choral Summit. It will present a solo concert at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on April 6, 2018, as well as do collaborations and clinics with festival registrants the next day at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. The VanMan Summit Concert showcases the 200 young men of Chor Leoni’s MYVoice educational outreach program, plus performances by Chor Leoni and men from near and far. That concert takes place the day after the TAKE 6 show, April 7 at the Chan Centre.

Then Chor Leoni stages its big Chor Leoni 25 show, marking its big anniversary April 28 in a daytime concert at West Vancouver United Church and an evening event at St. Andrew's Wesley.

Meanwhile, the just-announced 2017-18 season kicks off with the choir’s 25th annual Remembrance Day performance, One Last Song, on November 11.  The show will pair powerful music and carefully chosen readings focused on the 100th anniversary of Vimy Ridge.

The Christmas With Chor Leoni concerts for 2017 are scheduled for December 15 and 18 at St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church, and December 16 at the West Vancouver United Church.

Introduced last year, Chor Leoni’s C4 Canadian Choral Composition Competition returns to the Orpheum Annex on February 23, 2018. In its inaugural event, it attracted 36 entries from across the country, and the choir is hoping for even more next season. The show at the intimate Annex for C4 is an interactive opportunity to hear the finalists’ compositions and meet the composers.

The choir will wrap its season with its Chor Leoni Idol show and concerts at Bard on the Beach.

You can find more details here on the choir's site, starting June 1, when tickets for all performances are available through TicketsTonight.ca
