An Affair to Remember: La Dolce Vita at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Renowned soprano Siphiwe McKenzie returns home from the great music halls of Europe for a special fundraiser next Thursday (April 26). She’s set to perform at the Parkinson Society British Columbia’s gala An Affair to Remember: La Dolce Vita at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. McKenzie, who studied music at UBC, is currently a guest artist at Vienna Volksoper, and following her concert here, she’ll be singing everything from the title role in Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata at the Finnish National Opera to the title role of Georges Massenet’s Manon at the opera house in Basel, Switzerland. In other words, this is a rare chance to hear her finely honed instrument—and to indulge in an Italian four-course dinner at the same event.
