Altar Boyz at the Arts Club’s Revue Stage
One of the most rapturously funny musicals of the past few years has just returned to the Arts Club’s cozy Revue Stage, and we promise you: it will make you a believer. Altar Boyz, which debuted at the Club in 2009, is a hilariously irreverent (but never offensive) look at a religious boy band. Just consider lyrics like “Girl, you make me want to wait” and “Jesus called me on my cellphone.” The show, an off-Broadway hit now directed by Bill Millerd, runs until September 1, so there’s plenty of time to worship at the Altar.
