Five new marble and granite sculptures by Campbell River artist Cameron Kerr arrive at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre plaza tomorrow morning (August 30).

The sculptures, which play on modernist architecture, art history, and local cultural iconography, weigh 5,000 to 10,000 pounds apiece.

The works were commissioned by the City Public Art Program to mark the Vancouver's 125th anniversary last year.

The pieces will only be on display till November 1.

WOW ! Excellent way to recycle left over counter-top factory cuttings .A little glue and you have huge weights of stone.
Good Luck ,I seen most marble sculpture thats actually sculpted by hand with hammers & chic els takes a thousand times longer ,and it sells for $5,000 a cubic foot (on average)if the person has a life time of fine arts experience following in the foot steps of the masters like DA Vinci and Mike Angelo.
