Free Canada Day arts events at Vanier Park

Comments

Canada Day (July 1) is a good day to head down to Vanier Park and take in some free culture. Both the Museum of Vancouver and the Vancouver Maritime Museum are celebrating the occasion by offering free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the MoV, check out the over-the-top glamour of the elegant vintage dresses in Art Deco Chic or an ode to Vancouver’s neon-sign heyday, Neon Vancouver/Ugly Vancouver. At the Maritime, there’s a fun exhibit of kitschy seafaring collectibles in an exhibit called Don’t Eat the Whale Meat; history fans can feast on News of the Titanic: How the Titanic Went Down.
