FUSE at the Vancouver Art Gallery
It just might be the art party of the summer: at this Friday night’s (July 6) FUSE event at the Vancouver Art Gallery, projections and dance will combine for an immersive experience. Among the offerings, insanely watchable dancer-choreographer Noam Gagnon (above) of Co. Vision Selective performs in the rotunda, and dance duo Lina Fitzner and Caroline Liffmann of Light Box perform variations on their 2012 piece The Girl Who Went Forth to Learn What Fear Was. In the projections area, experimental-theatre troupe Boca del Lupo creates rapid-fire portraits of FUSE patrons, while Montreal’s Mere Phantoms invites visitors to build a shadow city on the Robson Plaza. There’s much more too, all in celebration of and inspired by the VAG show Again and Again and Again, an exhibit based on repeating, serial images.
