Kids fest's Under the Stars creates marionette magic
There's nothing quite as magical as a puppet show done with true artistry. And if all your kids have seen is sock puppets at the local library, do them a favour at this year's Vancouver International Children's Festival and check out the Montreal-born show Under the Stars. L'Illusion, Théâtre de marionnettes' production tells the classic Grimm's tale of Hansel and Gretel with intricately handmade, woolly-tuqued puppets as the brother and sister who get lost in the forest. Spellbinding, yet elegant in its simplicity, at the intimate Studio 1398 venue on Granville Island until Sunday (June 3). Tickets are still available.
