Mark Fewer at the Vancouver Academy of Music

Comments

Violin virtuosoMark Fewer, who locals may recall was concertmaster of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra from 2004 to 2008, is taking on a rather eclectic program this Sunday afternoon (May 20) at the Vancouver Academy of Music during a week-long stint there as artist in residence. Joined by local jazz artists Brad Turner, Jodi Proznick, and Tilden Webb, Fewer will perform repertoire ranging from Duke Ellington to Ludwig van Beethoven, as well as a new work by Vancouver composer Kathleen Allan. And if you need any more reason to go, it’s a benefit concert for the academy’s bursary program for underprivileged kids.
