The Obstructions project at the Progress Lab

Comments

The Obstructions project describes itself as “a radical new initiative intended to rattle the cage of local theatremakers”. Spurred by the Progress Lab, it doles out “obstructions” to the fearless troupes that take part, creating new work. This week, check out Pi Theatre’s piece for kids A place called Whisper on Saturday (November 24), for which they were mandated to make a work for children using improv (not their usual modus operandi). That’s followed by Theatre Conspiracy’s Save More, about the beloved big-box store, for adults on December 1; the troupe had to incorporate a woman over 60, a love story, and a tribute to Walmart (definitely not their usual subject matter). All shows are at the Progress Lab.
